Mr Ernest Bai Koroma, the presidential flagbearer of the All People’s Congress (APC), has told the people of Bo that all the major infrastructural development of that city took place during APC rule.
This, he said, should be one good reason why the people of Bo should vote for his leadership under the All People’s Congress.
Starting with energy and power to education, road networks, the front-runner of the August 11 presidential elections pointed out that the Bo Power Machine, Bo-Pujehun Highway, Bo-Kenema Highway, former Bo Teachers’ College, former Paramedical School and School of Hygiene (now School of Community Health Sciences, Njala University), Bo-Pujehun Project were all projects undertaken by the APC.
These projects, he said, no sooner were they started by his party then the party was overthrown and that now he was asking the people of that city to give him a chance to complete them.
“I and Charles Margai will turn Bo into a paradise. Had it not been the APC, the Bo-Kenema Highway would not have been, and it is the same thing that happened to the Bo-Pujehun Highway.
The APC brought the Paramedical School, and The Bo Teachers’ College,” the APC leader intoned.
He accused the ruling SLPP of not in favour of having a free and fair elections. “The election results have proved that more than 60% of the people of Sierra Leone have rejected the presidency of Solomon Berewa.”
Mr Koroma further claimed that the SLPP had infiltrated NEC and that they had pocketed the Sierra Leone Police.
He went on to say that eight senior police officers had been transferred with immediate effect for not supporting the ruling party.
The SLPP, he said, were also going round threatening the position of civil servants should they not vote for them.
He ended up by accosting President Kabbah: “Yesterday [Monday], Tejan Kabbah threatened to declare a Sate of Emergency, and a reporter called seeking my opinion and I told him that ‘it would be most unfortunate for Tejan Kabbah to do that’. Tejan Kabbah should know that he no longer has authority in this nation. His time has ended and at this present time he should be contemplating on what is to happen to him tomorrow.”
Charles Margai had earlier stated that he had joined the APC to end the yoke of tribalism in the country.
