Sierra Leone: The African and Islands Arab Boxing Federation announced the launch of the first edition of the African Arab Boxing Championship on the continent.
Scheduled for May 29, the competition will take place in Equatorial Guinea in Malabo. “It is a great pleasure to announce that the first African Islands Professional Boxing Championship will soon be held under the auspices of the New Form Arab Boxing Federation of African Islands.
At the end of the request formulated by Equatorial Guinea, the African Federation and the Arab Boxing Islands noted with satisfaction the positive response of the applicant to the specifications which were sent to him ”, indicated the President of the African Federation and from the Arab boxing islands, the Gabonese Eric Ella Bekale.
“All my gratitude therefore to all the Equatorial Guinean authorities, in particular to the President of the Republic, Théodore Obiang Nguéma Mbasogo for all that he continues to do in particular for the African and Equatorial Guinean youth”, he added.
At the same time paying tribute to the Minister of Sports and the technical director of FAIBA, for their “unprecedented and beneficial involvement” in the outcome of this dossier.
For the boxing fighters who intend to shine there, the Malabo stage will serve as preparation, before the Arab Boxing World Championship which will take place in Moscow in July 2021.
