EBK-Women’s Cup: Forward Fatmata Turay nets thrice to demolish Albitaya 5-0
SIERRA LEONE, Makeni: Mena Queens Football Club forward Fatmata Turay last Friday netted thrice against rival Koinadugu Albitaya Female Football Club (KAFFC) in her side’s loud 5-0 win in the 2021-EBK Women’s Cup one off semi-final.
Kargbo sealed her hat-trick in the 74th minute after her successive clinical finishes in the first half of the match that earned her a brace before the recess, thanks to crosses from her team’s left and right side wingers and two other goals from her co-forwards.
She told journalists that she is thrilled to have scored thrice in a single game after two years, dedicates the goals to her fans and revealed her belief to win the tournament’s title when they face Patrica Umu Stickers Football Club of Kambia in the grand finals on Christmas day.
“I knew I was going to score but was not hoping to have netted thrice being that Koinadugu Albitaya Female Football Club are not easy opponents but after I scored my first goal in the game I became motivated to score more, that was just what I did to scored two more goals before game time in our historic 5-0 win, Turay said.
“These goals are for my fans, thanks to God Almighty and my teammates as well, I promise to do more in the finals to also take home the golden boot award this year from the EBK-Women’s cup organizers.” The female goal machine further remarked conclusively. ARW/23/12/2021
