Police in Segbwema Town in the Jaluahun Chiefdom Kailahun District are currently investigating a matter relating to the alleged rape of a 20 year old dumb lactating mother by a 52 year old herbalist, Hassan Sesay.
The officer-in-charge of the Family Support Unit (FSU) Hannah Beas at the Segbwema Police Division told the press that the woman was selling fish balls around the town when she was invited by the suspect.
Reports further stated that the Dumb lady gestured to Hassan that her fish ball had been sold but he allegedly forced her into his bed room where she was allegedly raped.
The Police report further revealed that there were signs of bruises and bleeding on the suckling mother when the family of the dumb nursing mother reported the matter to the police.
The FSU boss Hannah Beas is worried that the absence of the Magistrate from the District might pose some delay in the prosecution of the matter but remarked that the matter will be sent to Kenema city for speedy trial if it comes to that stage.
