Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – Sierra Leone’s acclaimed artist, Drizilik, embarked on a unique adventure as part of the Puzzle Pod team in this year’s Budapest Bamako rally. The trio set out with a mission that extended beyond the traditional rally excitement – to raise awareness about autism.
As they maneuvered through the challenging terrain, Drizilik shared insights with Awoko, highlighting the rough experiences of the past three days. The journey led them through the vast dunes of Mauritania, posing a formidable challenge to their rally ambitions.
“Entering Senegal on Wednesday was a milestone,” Drizilik revealed, capturing the essence of their triumph over the demanding Mauritanian landscape. However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing. The artist emphasized a significant obstacle faced by the team during their passage through Mauritania – the struggle to secure reliable internet access.
In the midst of sandy dunes and remote landscapes, the Puzzle Pod team encountered difficulties in staying connected. Drizilik’s disclosure shed light on the reality of navigating the rally’s course while dealing with the practical challenges of communication technology in the region.
Despite the hurdles, the Puzzle Pod team pressed forward, fueled by their dedication to raising awareness about autism. The combination of artistic talent and a passion for a meaningful cause created a narrative that extended beyond the typical rally storyline, making Drizilik’s Budapest Bamako adventure both challenging and purposeful.
