A driver plying the Kenema Bo highway has complained about the numerous potholes on the roads, especially in Kenema city, which has resulted in fatal accidents or damage to their vehicles.
Speaking to a driver Alie Kamara, he attributed some of the accident along the roads to the numerous potholes and called on the Sierra Leone Road Authority (SLRA) to immediately fix the road in order to avert further accident.
He says the Blama Road was temporarily repaired during the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) days but has since been abandoned by the (SLRA) despite its use by commuters to do work and carry out their business.
He expressed concern about the deadly potholes just after the Lebanese Secondary school junction, Saffa Street, Elie Street and C-curve, which he refers to as “death traps”. The angry driver says for strangers who do not know where some of the pot holes are located are prone to accidents, particularly during the night and called on stakeholders in Kenema to ensure that they have immediate redress.
