The health situation in Kabala is becoming a cause for concern with claims that patients are dying at the hospital there.
Speaking to journalist Kemoh Daramy, Manager of the Bintumani Radio station in Kabala, “this is as a result of the lack of a Doctor to treat patients at the hospital.”
He says, Dr Amadu Sesay, who was sent there recently to replace Dr. Adekalie Kamara who is now in Ghana on a study leave, has also gone to China for further studies.
Daramy says, the hospital has gone for weeks without a Doctor. He says pregnant women, sick children and dozens of other sick people are languishing on the corridors of the hospital.
Daramy added that the situation is pathetic to the point that the chairman of the district council had to seek the services of a retired Doctor to rescue the situation.
People are calling on the government to send a Doctor to the hospital which is the only Government hospital in Koinadugu District.
