A man who attempted to do double registration on the 24th and 27th January 2012 in Bureh Town, has been remanded and awaiting sentencing before Magistrate Komba Kamanda of Court No 2.
David Bendu, of Bureh Town, in the York District in the Western Area Rural, had pleaded guilty to one count charge of double registration contrary to section 3(1) of the Electoral Laws Act No2 of 2002.
According to his charge statement, on 24th and 27th January 2012 at the United Methodist Church (UMC) Primary School in the York District in the Western Area Rural, the accused knowingly registered more than once as an elector in Ward 335 of Constituency 93.
The magistrate ordered that he be remanded at the Pademba Road Prison until the matter comes up on 6th February 2012 for sentencing.
