Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – In a landmark celebration of 25 years dedicated to uplifting vulnerable children and youth, Don Bosco Fambul, a non-profit organization, marked the occasion with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Therapeutic Center.
Located in Baoma Village along the Waterloo-Tombo Highway in the Western Rural District, the center stands as proof of Don Bosco Fambul’s unwavering commitment.
The facility encompasses a clinic, accommodations for volunteers and social workers, a Salesian community residence, and a chapel, symbolizing a holistic approach to transforming lives.
Father Piotr Wonjnarowski, the Director of Don Bosco Fambul, expressed gratitude to donors and partners who contributed significantly to the organization’s journey. Emphasizing that the true success lies in transformed lives, Father Wonjnarowski highlighted the collaborative efforts between the Sierra Leonean Government and Don Bosco Fambul.
Noteworthy contributions from the Governments of Germany and Spain were acknowledged, showcasing international support for the organization’s impactful work.
The Programs Manager for Caritas Freetown, Ishmael Alfred Charles, commended Don Bosco for its dedicated service and the inauguration of the Therapeutic Center. Charles emphasized the visible impact of Don Bosco’s commitment, citing stories of transformed lives and restored dignity among the vulnerable.
The German Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Amb. Jens Kraus-Masse, congratulated Don Bosco Fambul on its 25th-anniversary celebration, recognizing the organization’s positive impact in the country.
Deputy Chief Director at the Ministry of Social Welfare, Francis Kabia, expressed delight in being part of the celebration and commended Don Bosco’s efforts in addressing societal issues. He stressed the importance of partnership and collaboration in achieving social welfare goals, encouraging the community to actively participate in fostering a safer society. Kabia also highlighted the Ministry’s commitment to working with Don Bosco Fambul, underlining the significance of local donors in successfully implementing the therapy center’s operations.
