Ahead of the Launching of her organization, Dorwontony Organisation for the Aged (DOFA) tomorrow Saturday at the Home for the Aged in Grafton, the CEO has fed over 60 old people including street beggars at the Trinity School compound. The Chief Executive Officer of DOFA Doreen Barrie said she decided to feed these people on Thursday because her organization is catering for the aged and most of the people that she fed cannot afford even one square meal a day.
“We decided to feed this set of people today because we are preparing for launching on Saturday at Grafton and we want to prelude it with this gesture for people around the East. Over 60 of them were fed and they were very happy that they received such delicious meal today.” Talking to one of the beneficiaries Madam Yeabu Mansaray said she was happy that she got food from the organization as she was not expecting it. She said she ate half and kept the other half to give to her grandchild and thanked DOFA for the food and drinks they received.
Doreen said this is the beginning of brighter things to come as she believes that the aged are not taken care of very well, but with DOFA, they are going to make sure that the aged are respected and make sure they live a decent life especially after retirement.
