The secretary general of the Western Area Football Association (WAFA), Abu Maley, has disclosed to Awoko Sports that the 14 Division One clubs will receive their seed money today at WAFA’s office at the National Stadium.
Each club will receive Le800, 000, 00. The actually money is one million Leones but two Le200, 000, 00 was deducted as registration.
He mentioned that the league would finally start on March 10th instead of the of March 3 at the Football Academy at Kingtom, and that the league would also be played at the Brima Attouga Complex and the Parade Grounds.
Abu Maley noted that during the last meeting only Republicans and Eastern Rangers were absent.
He noted that during the meeting they also agreed that any club after receiving the money who failed to honour their matches court action would be taken against them.
He also revealed that the Division Two league would start in three weeks’ time.
