Meet the people tour by the disabled people of the Opportunity Training Center (OTC) has ended their tour at Serabu village along the Bo-Kenema highway in the Kamboma section in Small Bo chiefdom Kenema district.
Welcoming the physically challenged persons in the village, the acting town chief of Serabu village, Chief Mohamed Sannoh thanked the disabled people for their visit to them. He expressed thanks and appreciation to the disabled whom he described as physically challenged people and stating but not all is lost.
He cautioned the people of Serabu village to encourage the disabled persons and give them what ever support they can afford as they are part of the society. He said most of them have talents that can make them perform even more than the physically unchallenged persons in the society.
In his contribution the senior quarter head of the village Ansumana Momoh advised the people of Serabu village to take great care of the disabled persons at all times, saying that no body can go beyond deformity as it can come to people at any time within their life time.
Giving his speech the section chief of Kamboma section in the Small Bo chiefdom Kenema district Chief Foday Gobah encouraged the people of Kamboma section to send their disabled children to the training center for self reliance.
Chief Gobah then informed the audience that the Paramount chief of Small Bo chiefdom Hon. PC Mohamed Dafie Benya has called on the people of Small Bo to fully engage in farming as huge amount of money has been allocated to the agricultural section in Sierra Leone. He emphasized that all farmers in the chiefdom should organize themselves into groups so that they could benefit from the money allocated by the government for agricultural purpose. Chief Foday Gobah praised His Excellency the President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma for his development stride taking so far in the country.
In his statement the leader of the disabled team that visited the village Gbessay Moseray said they were in Serabu village for the people of the area to know that disability is not an inability. He said they wanted to encourage all disabled persons who are with their families in the chiefdom and the district to join the Opportunity Training Center so that they can be self reliant to contribute to nation building.
