The Community Action Program (CAP) have donated wheel chairs, crutches pharmaceuticals, school items and ready to eat food for children to the national disabled women’s forum (NADWOF).
The presentation was made during the NADWOF general meeting held every first Saturday of the month and the presentations were made by Member of Parliament for the APC Hon. Julius Nyei Cuffie.
Presenting the items Hon Cuffie lauded the efforts of CAP for people with disabilities and also for their genuine efforts in helping the disabled people. He disclosed at the ceremony his determination to lessen the problems of the disabled as he said “my effort alone cannot attain this, other organisations have to work together in order to reach this goal .we shall all work for our rights, health, education, employment and other pertinent issues “he said
Yvette Jones who presented the pharmaceuticals and other assorted items to CAP on behalf of Aureol Freight Services Limited, revealed that the donation was made because they cared about needy people and it was part of their corporate social responsibility to give out.
“I will continue to give donations as business grows and I hope to do something big for the very needy people” she said The President of NADWOF,
Ms Rosamond Rogers expressed her gratitude for the donation stating that her organisation needs all the support it could get as she promised the items would reach the needy.
Ms Bertha-Wilson, the Director of CAP called for well coordinated government policies aimed at integrating disabled people.
