Sierra Leone’s Director of Sports, Saidu Mansaray who has reportedly long passed his retirement age is today expected to handover the baton of Directorship to Bai Kabia, at Bishop House at the national stadium.
Speaking during a telephone interview with Awoko sports over the weekend, Bai Kabia confirmed that he is going to take over from Saidu Mansaray as Director of Sports.
Bai Kabia spoke of a call he received from the outgoing Director of Sports Saidu Mansaray and the instruction he [Saidu Mansaray] got to handover the directorship today
Speaking on his plans, Bai Kabia said, when he takes over, he is going to look at the composition of the Sports Council and as well look at the sporting disciplines with regards to their functions.
He said, every worker must come on board to promote sport in the country and that “those who are not ready to work will have themselves to be blame.”
The name, Bai Kabia, has been a house hold name in Sierra Leone’s football as he is believed to be one of Sierra Leone’s best players during his days and he also served as Team Manager for the National Team, Leone Stars.
He believes, as Director of Sports, he has something to offer to this nation, coupled with the wealth of experience he has got in football. “With the cooperation of other senior members in Sports Council”, he said, he will succeed in his new job.
