In preparation for the premier league season Diamond Stars Football Club has got a Le 60 million Sponsorship deal from Overseas Investors International Limited. This was disclosed by a member of the company Osman Cham.
Cham also mentioned that the money is for the player’s welfare for a year and the company has also paid salary to the players for this month.
He also said that the money given to Diamond Stars Football club is just a start and they will do more as development takes place there will be a possibility that they will increase the money. Osman Cham said that he attended school at Kono and during his schooling he was an athlete and he was the first captain for Cosmos football team. He also says he played for Diamond Stars briefly before travel.
He mentioned that he is a football fan and he is an indigene of Kono so he wants to give back to his community, and that is why he decided to bring Overseas Investor International Limited Company on board to sponsor Diamond Stars. He went further that with the money the players are going to be motivated and they are going to do better in the premier league this time around. However if they fail to live up to expectations they will still try again as their goal is to win – they will still continue with their sponsorship. He also disclosed that during the premier league the Jersey of Diamond Stars will have the Logo of the company and they are also going to monitor the money to see that it is used for the intended purpose. He also gave a brief account of the company which he said was formed about 7 years ago in South America and it was an investment company dealing with mostly export and import and also they were looking into Diamond and some constructions.
