The Management and Staff of the internationally respected courier service, DHL, joined pastors and the congregation at the Sanctuary Praise Church, Off King Harman in their Sunday morning service to give praise for 20 years of their operations in Sierra Leone.
During the service, the Managing Director of DHL, Basil Akinbinu told the congregation that he was very happy for what his company had done in the country.
He said DHL had grown in the past years and in 1999, won the Special Commendation Of The Year award because of their operations despite the interregnum.
In 2000, DHL was Runners Up in Sub Saharan Africa for their “hard work and profitability”.
In 2004, DHL Sierra Leone was tops among 54 countries.
Mr Akinbinu said their humble beginning was the cause for their rise as DHL Sierra Leone has about 20 staff with a fleet of cars, a speed boat and aircraft to meet the needs of their beloved customers.
He thanked the leadership of Sanctuary Church for the regular prayers they had been offering for the company.
The Managing Director quoted Psalm 100:1 which says “make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands”. He said they had gone to worship because they wanted to celebrate their 20 years by making joyful noises throughout Sierra Leone because of their wonderful achievements.
The senior Pastor of Sanctuary Praise Church Victor Ajisafe prayed for the entire staff and their relatives for choosing his Church to worship. He commended them for their diligent services in the performance, and entreated them to continue giving their best in making the company and the country a better place to live and work in.
Pastor Ajisafe said he was proud of one of his pastors, Ismaila Conteh, DHL’s Commercial Manager for “being steadfast in his duty”.
After prayers, the Managing Director made a donation to Pastor Ajisafe on behalf of the company.
On Friday, DHL had joined the Imam and congregation of the Al-Aqsa Mosque at Brookfields.
