Detective Josephus Musa has testified against six alleged armed robbers who were arraigned before Magistrate Hannah Bonnie at the Freetown Magistrate Court No. 1 on Pademba Road in Freetown, on Wednesday 18th September 2019. The accused, Mustapha Jusu, Mohamed Bangura, Ishmael Bangura, and others, were charged with robbery with aggravation, and conspiracy to commit a crime. Police allege on Monday 1st July 2019, at Goderich, in Freetown, the accused robbed Augustine Samuels using a pistol and machetes and stole Le5 million, a Toshiba laptop valued at Le6 million, a Chrome laptop valued at Le6 million, a Samsung Galaxy phone valued at Le4,500,000, a Samsung note 3 mobile valued at Le2 million, and one iPhone valued at Le7 million. The total value of the stolen property is approximately Le34,500,000.

According to the police witness, Detective Musa, on Monday 1st July 2019, a case of robbery was reported at the CID headquarters. Musa said he was assigned to do further investigation. On the 18th July 2019, Musa said, along with Sergeant Kamara they obtained voluntary cautioned statements from the first (Mustapha Jusu), second (Mohamed Bangura), and third (Ishmael Bangura) accused. On the same date, he charged the accused persons with robbery with aggravation and conspiracy to commit a crime. The statements were tendered in Court. The six accused were represented by lawyer A.B.S. Sangarie, and the police prosecutor was Inspector I.G. Fofana. More witnesses are expected to testify. Magistrate Bonnie sent the accused to the Male Correctional Centre on Pademba Road in Freetown, and the matter was adjourned to 24th September 2019.
