Coach, Derrick Boison, former Old Edwardians Coach may likely take over the Gem Stars FC of Tongo in Kenema for the rest of its Premier League matches. Kamboi Eagles are also reported to be interested in signing the Ghanaian-born coach.
Executive Chairman of Gem Stars, Hon. Francis Konuwa admitted seeking the service of Boison because according to him, “he is a good Coach” and asserted, “We want Boison to take over the team,” even though it was Boison who was in charge of the same Gem Stars when the team was relegated two years back.
But Boison is now defending his management’s renewed want of Boison, he said “the reason he failed to prevent the team from relegation two years back is because the club was bankrupt. But with enough resources now, I believe he is the right man to replace sacked Coach, Soccoh Arun Conteh.”
Hon. Konuwa who remained hopeful of the coach’s service said Boison will hopefully be in charge of the team against Kissy All Stars on Friday, March 2 and possibly for the rest of the season.
Whilst Gem Stars are hoping to land the Ghanaian, bitter rivals, Kamboi Eagles’ have also registered their interest in signing the tactician.
However, the Eagles executive confessed that they cannot challenge the financial spending power of their rival. The decision as to where to go depends with Coach Boison.
Derrick Boison, two years back was at the helm of affairs at Gems Stars FC when they were battling relegation. However, he was unable to rescue the team and had to leave at the end of the season.
