Ibrahim Pratt (24) was yesterday recovered dead while trapped by rubble after it fell on him and another person on Monday evening at a building site on 30 Siaka Stevens Street.
Ibrahim and the other victim ‘Magath’ or ‘Rasta’ were casual workers at the building site under construction by D and S Associates which is to house a new bank – Access Bank.
The deceased had worked for Le15,000 on that day and along with two of his colleagues, went by the side of the building closer to the Foreign Affairs ministry for a quick bath.
Augustine Williams the third person who was also taking his bath with the victims after work told Awoko. “When we started working here, we used to take our bath after work at the basement but we were stopped by the contractors who told us to use the side of the building. We had cleared the huge dirt from the wall of the building for two days and on the third day after work we went to wash when Ibrahim met his death”
Augustine said he was on his way out after bathing when he heard the sound of the falling rubble.
Rasta he said was lucky as he was rescued by colleagues who hurriedly rushed him to the Connaught hospital. He received head injuries and complained of body pains.
Yesterday, a building construction company Bao limited and SLRA mechanical services unit were engaged in cleaning the rubble in search of the deceased.
The dead body after being dug out by colleagues was found wedged between a stick and the wall and buried by the rubble.
