The Civil Society Alternative Process of Sierra Leone (CSAP –SL) has called for tolerance, sanity and responsible leadership in the forthcoming presidential run-off on 8th September.
In a press release issued Thursday members of CSAP and other interested coalitions noted that as concerned civil society activists they analyzed the events leading up to the 11th August elections and compared it with the period leading up to the presidential run-off on Saturday and noted with great concern the spate of violence or threats of violence that have intensified in depth, scope and magnitude throughout the country. The release maintained “we support the initiative of the Office of National Security (ONS) to organize a peace match to take place in Freetown on 6th September led by the two aspiring candidates for the presidential run-off.”
