The appointment of Regional Drivers’ Union executives by the Union President has roundly been described as unconstitutional and totally illegal and needs an instant attention.
The former Regional Drivers’ Union Chairman, Sylvester Braima further called for the instant dissolution of such regional arrangements to be replaced by elected membership.
This call comes amidst protests from respective regions all demanding for all-out elections in line with the Union’s Constitutional Mandate.
Cataloguing his criticisms recently, the out gone Drivers’ Union Chairman in turn accused the appointed regional scribe, South, Moses Sandy for allegedly misinforming the public and thereby illegally engaging in firing of various Park Chairpersons at Gendema and Bonthe District.
Sylvester Braima was quick to condemn the Union’s President, Alhaji Fofana for unconstitutionally imposing Regional Executives on innocent Drivers’ Union membership in all four regions, West, North, South and East respectively.
There has been no reaction yet from either the National Executives in Freetown or the Regional Executive in Bo headed by Abu Saidu, alias Abu White.
It must be stated that as most of the time the Drivers’ Union has been riddled with constitutional problems thus rendering the Union totally ineffective thereby posing antagonism among opposing factions.
