The Sierra Leone Cricket U-19 National team resumed training yesterday at the Kingtom oval with 18 out of the 27 players present during the training.
Speaking to Awoko, the Public Relations Officer Bockarie Alieu said the team is preparing for their qualification in Namibia and during the qualification series in Namibia during August this year as Sierra Leone will join Uganda, host Namibia,Tanzania, Kenya,Zambia and Botswana
Alieu also mentioned that they in the executive are doing everything possible to make sure that they qualify for the competition as the U-19 side always makes the country proud and they are also hoping to do better than the previous competitions.
Alieu mentioned that the 18 players that were present during the training were Ibrahim Manasaray, Ibrahim Kabia, Brima Ansumana, Emmaunel Pessima, Edward Marah, Solomon Williams, Mohamed Alie Bangura, Sulaiman Tarawally, Joseph Kamanoh, Abass Gbla, Richard Tommy,Musa Ganda,Ronald James,Alhajie Manasaray Patrick Samura,and James Bundu
According to Alieu the other players are expected to joined the training today and the association is going to organize series of trials before the final selection will be made to represent the country.
According to Alieu, the final selection will be made on merit and appealed to all the players to perform very well if they want to be among the final selection of players.
