Cricket stakeholders who were present at a meeting with the Cricket Association executive over the weekend at the Police Canteen at Kingtom have given the executive a 2-day notice to call for an elective congress.
According to some of the stakeholders who spoke to Awoko Sports, the life span of the current executive had elapsed since November last year. The call for an elective congress they maintained is to elect new executive to run the affairs of the association for the next four years.
They also stated that this time around they are going to appoint a board that will be working side by side the executive for the development of the sport.
They also revealed that the election is expected to hold on11th February 2012 with six contestable positions instead of the previous seven.
The position of Assistant Secretary will be eliminated and replaced with an Administrative Secretary and there will be only one Vice President.
However, the meeting was able to review the outcomes of the two previous stakeholder meetings to enable the association meet a crucial ICC conditionality and clarify issues pertaining to the running of the association and the game of cricket.
