The Kenema City Council has resolved to take court action against any tax defaulters in the municipality.
Speaking to Awoko, the council’s Treasurer, Prince Lansana said they had resolved to take stern actions against “rampant tax evasion”.
He said the Council had not been able to realise their development goals in the past years because grant from the central government was insufficient to enhance meaningful development in the township.
Mr Lansana said that apart from the daily market dues, there was hardly any revenue source.
He solicited the cooperation of the community to ensure the council’s success.
