Sierra Leone’s musical pride Nenneh Cherry’s father, Ahmadu Jarr has brought a container filled with music equipments.
Jarr a celebrated musician based in Sweden who looks too elegant for an octogenarian said to Awoko that if these instruments were to be valued in Leones it will sum up to hundreds of millions of Leones.
He explained that these instruments were not bought, adding that almost all of it were by donation from various sectors of the Swedish society.
Jarr noted that there are all sorts of musical instruments for the utilization of musicians and those who wanted to take music as a career.
He explained that the clearing process was not an easy one, “I went through a lot of red-tapisim at the customs department, in fact this caused me to exceed the time I had actually set to leave,” he said.
“At least all is well that ends well,” he said smiling.
The wonderful entertainer said, “these instruments are under the care of the Ballanta Academy”, adding that those who want to make use of the instruments should contact the Ballanta Academy.
