Ansley Street, which is one of the most dilapidated streets with poor drainage facilities within Constituency 104, is currently undergoing reconstruction.
Reconstruction work started in November 2009, but was stopped after 65% work had been done due to lack of funds; however, Parliamentarian Babatunde Lewally has now provided the much needed funds and work has already commenced last week.
According to the Parliamentarian he emphasized that during his campaign he promised residents that he will do everything possible to develop the constituency and that is why he intervened to fund the work so that it can be completed for the benefit and convenience of the people.
He also disclosed that this is not the first development project he has undertaken as he has done it at Kossoh Town, Crojimmy, Moa Wharf to name but few and he hopes to continue on his promise to the people.
Pa Alimamy Kamara who resides at Ansley Street said he is happy for the timely intervention of the Parliamentarian to rescue the situation, because whenever it rains his compound floods.
He also disclosed that when the work stopped people started depositing garbage along the Street which makes the area to stink, however, the contractor Mr Abu Kamara said that he will complete the work within a month because he has sufficient materials and manpower
