A two-day information sharing and interactive forum on peace and security, organised by Conciliation Resources to strengthen citizens’ security, has ended at the Diema Entertainment Centre in Kenema.
Conciliation Resources’ project coordinator, Patrick Zombo, said the present security apparatuses put in place should be filtered down to the community people to reduce their security.
He said, “the forum is created to bring stakeholders of various departments, especially officials of the National Electoral Commission (NEC), together to discuss the present status of peace and security in our communities”.
Mr Zombo stated that the forum would build confidence and interactive capacities among stakeholders and the civil populace on the forthcoming elections, and the sustainability of peace and security in the country.
He said the security sector meeting would help prevent violence, “especially at this time when elections are just at the corner”.
