The National team Leone Stars will be destroyed because of the way and manner in which the team selection is made for international matches.
In their recent match against Equatorial Guinea over the weekend sentiments in selecting the team came into play.
Some of these so called players who featured in the first eleven against their Equatorial Guinea counterpart have played for this country on several occasions but could not make any impact in the squad – but they are still fielding those players.
We need to give other players chance to prove themselves so that if some players are not called they will not have anything to say as all of them have been given the chance to show how they can perform. This time around government has done everything possible to make sure that the boys can deliver – but is now left with them and as a Sierra Leonean we want to see our National team winning matches
That is why we are appealing to the technical team that if they want to achieve their goals they must forget about sentiments when it comes to selection.
Any player who cannot deliver the goods to make you proud should not be among the players and if the team fails the technical team should be fired.
So for the technical team to retain their jobs they need to make a fair selection of the players. Those who deserve to play must play but those players who are not fit must not play.
You must select players by their performances not because of any other reason. The match against Nigeria – Leone Stars must win at all cost so that government will be happier to spend more money on the national team.
The ball is now in your court to make both the fans and government happy, defeating Nigeria will resurrect football once more in the country it is now left with you Leone Stars to perform.
