The Public Affairs and Communication Director of Coca Cola Africa Foundation, Philippe Ayivor has disclosed to the Media in Sierra Leone that the Coca Cola Company has spent over US$100m (One hundred Million dollars) to undertake developmental activities in Africa in the last 10 years through the Coca Cola Africa Foundation.
He made this statement on Tuesday 25th January 2011 at Sierra Light House Hotel, Aberdeen where the Sierra Leone Bottling Company organized an interactive session to update the media about the activities of Coca Cola and also to bring the company close to media practitioners in Sierra Leone.
Philippe Ayivor said the Coca Cola Africa Foundation has been focused on promoting Education, Entrepreneurship, Health and environmental issues in Africa.
The Regional Manager for the Sierra Leone Bottling Company and the Liberia Coca Cola Bottling Company; Rocky Findley said Coca Cola has contributed towards the economic development of thousands of Sierra Leoneans adding that the company has supported over 10,000 businesses in the country. He further intimated the Media that the Coca Cola Company has an inflexible will to produce a safe and quality product for the consumption of people globally.
The Regional Manager disclosed that Coca Cola being the world’s most recognized brand will celebrate its 125 years of existence this 2011.
