The head coach of Ports Authority Football Club Daniel Koroma (Diamond Toes) in an interview with Awoko Sports has assured football fans in the country of victory in their first round match with their Senegalese counterpart As Douanes in Dakar.
Coach Daniel Koroma said that the worst result for his boys in Dakar will be a draw as he has prepared his boys well for the competition.
He mentioned that he has about four of his regular players that have gone for international assignment but they can still eliminate their opponent and move to the next stage.
He mentioned that they are not afraid of their opponent and he appealed to his boys to be focused if they are to achieve their goals in Dakar as there is no magic in football if you fail to prepare you are in serious problems.
He mentioned that about two years ago they represented Sierra Leone in an international competition as runners up but there is great difference in the team compared to the team two years ago.
The team has been beefed up with about 10 players from different clubs in the country to put the team in good shape for the competition.
He said that they are going to play at the international stadium which is not a strange place for his boys as two years ago on their way to Mali they were able to pass by the stadium and they have seen the condition of the field so that will not be a problem to his boys.
He disclosed that whatever the result from Senegal his boys are sure of eliminating their opponent in Freetown in two weeks time.
The team is expected to depart the shores of Sierra Leone for Senegal today with about 28 man delegation comprising of 18 players and 10 officials.
