A 32-year old cleaner, Mohamed Kargbo was yesterday, Thursday, 19th January 2012 docked at the Magistrate Court No. 2 presided over by Magistrate Komba Kamanda on a charge of fraudulent conversion contrary to Section 20(1) (a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of offence, it is alleged that the accused sometime in December 2011 along Hill Street, fraudulently converted to his own use one metal hand cart valued at Le 1,500,000 (one million five hundred thousand Leones) entrusted to him by one Desmond George for commercial use.
The accused entered a plea of not guilty when the charges were read out to him. Police Sergeant 721 is prosecuting the matter. The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge when the charge was read out to him. He was not legally represented at this first appearance. He was however granted bail in the sum of Le 2, 000, 000 (two million Leones) one surety to be approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar. The matter was adjourned to Friday, 27th January 2012 for further hearing.
