Makeni, SIERRA LEONE – Milton Franklyn Koroma (Stuntman), the Chairman of the Provincial Voices Sierra Leone says among the reasons for their existence as a registered Music/Entertainment company is to establish long-lasting ties with the central government and its partners while using music to positively impact the nation.
“First of all, as established and emerging Musical Acts who hail from towns and cities outside Freetown, we’ve teamed up and established a group named “Provincial Voices-Sierra Leone”, and in less than a year we’re excited to have recorded diverse achievements contributing to foster national cohesion in our nation.
“Some of our achievements include being able to successfully compose the first sensitization song for the nationwide voter’s registration exercise in 2021 which later attracted support from the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL) to compose another song to urge our countrymen to step up and verify their voter’s registration details at exhibition centers nationwide.
“And quite recently, our group which is formed by both famous and emerging music producers, songwriters, and vocalists graduated into a Music and Entertainment company that is legally registered to operate in Sierra Leone.”
On Friday, Koroma further explained to Awoko Newspaper that their company is still on the move to ensure that their aims and aspirations are fully realized soon. Being that what we wanted initially at the start is “legality to operate, now our focus is to continue to stay focused on using music to impact Sierra Leone positively while aiming to attract partnership and sponsorship from the Government of Sierra Leone, the United Nations Development Program-(UNDP) and reputable institutions within and across the country.
Like we’ve successfully done before and during the nationwide Voters Registration and Exhibition Exercise we’re on the same path to further sensitize and encourage Sierra Leoneans to love one another to be able to achieve lasting calm.
This is why we’re officially premiering today, a peace song titled “Civilians & Police” with the hope to rekindle and strengthen the peaceful tie between Civilians and Police to wipe off the mindset developed during previous strikes including the August 10 insurrection and to encourage them to respect one another and consider themselves as partners of development to let both the Police and Civilians enjoy lasting peace in the country.
