Chinese Ambassador Hu Zhangliang has paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Finance, Jacob Jusu Saffa, at his George Street early this week. Saffa welcomed Ambassador Hu and thanked China for its long-term support and assistance to Sierra Leone. He said that he expects Sierra Leone and China to cooperate in a wide range of areas. The Minister of Finance thanked the Chinese government for the financial support they gave to Sierra Leone during the FOCAC summit, the Regent – Limkokwing Road and other support they have given especially the garbage trucks.

Ambassador Hu said that for long time, China has provided considerable assistance to Sierra Leone within its capacity, contributing to Sierra Leone’s economic and social development. “China is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Sierra Leone following the principle of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith as well as the principle of pursuing the greater good and shared interests.” The Ambassador averred that China looks forward to working with Sierra Leone to make solid progress in the implementation of the FOCAC Beijing summit’s outcomes and the joint building of the Belt and Road, the Ambassador pointed out.
