The leader of the People’s Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC), Charles Francis Margai, has met with party members at the regional party office along Dama Road in Kenema.
Addressing hundreds of party faithful, Mr Margai disclosed that they had mended the indifferences that had existed between the party executive and their supporters.
He added that party supporters should be united and work hand in glove to develop the party, noting that if they were united their enemy would not go penetrate them. Mr Margai stressed that it was through their participation that the party would be successful in the forthcoming local council elections. The PMDC leader further said it was the people who had to appoint their candidates for the forthcoming local council election not the executive from Freetown. He maintained that the member should take the party at heart above individuals’ desires and that all those who wanted to contest for the local council elections should pay their local and income taxes before contesting.
Mr Margai reiterated that, “the PMDC will stand as a party on its own. It was only for the run off elections that PMDC made alliance with the All People’s Congress (APC)”.
