Cannon Royals Basketball team on Tuesday July 12 won the two months league organized by the association at the National Stadium when they defeated their arch rivals YSC in the grand finals by winning both games 47-36, 46-44 respectively to clinch the trophy.
The game should be a best of three, but during the game Cannon Royals won their first two games which comprised four quarters which was dominated by both teams with Cannon Royals winning most of the quarters in the first game and YSC won most of other quarters in the second game. At the end of both games, Cannon Royals emerged as champion. According to reliable information gathered by Awoko Sports, 8 teams took part in the competition and they were divided into two groups, and the first two in each group went to playoff which is the semi final stage. This year’s league was very competitive than any other organized by the association, as all the participating teams were able to live up to expectation. And within the coming days, the association is expected to award certificates and cash prizes to the various winners.
