His Royal Highness Igwe Dr Nathaniel Barry Nwosu ESE Ndi Igbo Gurugburu yesterday summoned a press conference in which he called upon the Police to speed up its investigations into the alleged murder of a Nigerian. Speaking to newsmen at his Liverpool Street office he noted that he was not pleased with the information minister’s response to the alleged murder.
“We want the SLP to carry out their investigations so that the country’s image will not be jeopardized. He stressed that they are waiting anxiously on the government for its report on the issue. As for the police he noted “I have not received any positive report from them; all what they said was that the matter is under investigation; an update as to how the investigation is going has not been given,” he said.
“We were expecting that by now the government of Sierra Leone would have come out with an official statement,” the Igwe stressed, noting his disappointment with regards to the slow pace of the investigation .He revealed that they were made to understand that Mohamed Sillah the suspect is on the run. “From the autopsy one person did not carry out the killing. We were informed that the there was a lot of struggling between the assailant and the victim and the victim’s head was smashed,” the Igwe said. .The Igwe said according to report the deceased young man Emmanuel Anayo was gruesomely murdered while carrying out his legitimate business in Freetown. He said the deceased has a Liberian and Sierra Leonean assisting in the shop and they were both were employed by the deceased’s master Modestus Nnanenere who is now out of town. The Sierra Leonean servant according to the Igwe allegedly murdered Anayo and carted away with over $40,000 he revealed.
