About 40 coaches and players have written a letter to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports for the resignation of the present executive and for elections so that a new executive will run the association.
The letter which was written and signed by all 40 coaches and players in Bo, Makeni, Kono and Freetown demands the immediate resignation of the present executive.
In an interview with AWOKO Sports, one of the coaches Amidu Dumbuya who doubles as Ag. Secretary -General gave the main reason for their stand was the non compliance of the Executive with the contract   the executive is to provide tennis equipments and incentives for players and coaches.
The executive is also to organize training and workshops for coaches and to frequently organize Lawn Tennis tournaments like Championships for the Western, Southern, Eastern, and Northern Regions. He also mentioned that they have not received Tennis equipment like rackets, tennis balls and a host of other equipment for the past three years now.
Coach Dumbuya added that the executive is neither taking the sports seriously nor following their mandate as stipulated in the constitution of the Sierra Leone Tennis Association.
According to coach Dumbuya this present   executive has been in office for a decade since the last election in 1998 that is why they the coaches and players are calling for their resignation as they have over stayed in office.
