Freetown, SIERRA LEONE – In an unexpected turn of events, Dreams FC, a Ghanaian team, is set to be hosted by Sierra Leone’s FC Kallon in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup, and the match will be played in Liberia.
FC Kallon had no choice but to relocate their home game to Liberia due to the absence of a stadium in Sierra Leone that meets CAF’s stringent standards for this prestigious competition.
When the proposed venue change to the Southern Arena in Bo City, Sierra Leone, was presented to Dreams FC, they declined the request. Instead, they explored alternative venues to ensure their team’s adequate preparation for this pivotal second leg.
The visiting team, Dreams FC, enters the second leg with a slight advantage, having secured a 2-1 victory at the Accra Sports Stadium a fortnight ago.
Both teams are eager to make history by reaching the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time in their respective club’s histories. BT/30/9/2023
