Sierra Leone international Mohamed Buya Turay has announced a new contract with Chinese Super League side Henan Jianye FC, after spending a season at another Chinese top flight club, Hebei China. The Leone Stars striker made this announcement on his Facebook page –

“I’m officially a Henan Jianye FC player today, I would like to thank the entire Hebei FC family led by the management, coaches, club staff and fellow players for welcoming me to China and being there for me.”

“I have had a good time at the club and it has made [me] fall in love with China even though I came here under difficult times which didn’t allow for a lot of interaction as I would have liked.”

“I wish Hebei all the best in the future. I will miss you dearly. Today, I take a new challenge by joining Henen Jianye FC. I want to thank God for giving me yet another opportunity to use my talent.”

“Having been in China for a year now, I feel that I have adapted well and I shall give my very best to my new club in order to make everyone who loves this club happy.”

Buya has been an exemplary footballer since he started his professional career at Juventus IF in the 2013/2014 season, where he scored 32 goals in 25 appearances, a successful journey that led him to several European clubs like ‘Vasteras SK’ in 2014, ‘AFC Eskilstuna’ 2015 – 2017, ‘Dalklurd FF’ 2018, ‘Sint-Truiden’ 2018 – 2020, ‘Djurgardens IF’ on loan in 2019, before he finally made a swift move to the Chinese Super League at Hebei China Fortune Football Club in 2020.
