Be the Change Sierra Leone (BTC-SL) yesterday started a three days training for twenty five young men and women at the Scripture Union Hall, 74 Pademba Road Freetown.
The training is to identify the obstacles, share best practices and proffer solutions to the problems encountered by young men and women in society.
According to the Country Director, George Reginald Freeman said the training was intended to empower more young women to build up their own action plans on social entrepreneurship and business start-ups. He also said they intended to empower them start their own community development projects and introduce them to the peace child International Be the Change program.
The Country Director further said if they were to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, the young men and women should be seen as partners that will enhance the socio- economic status. He also said after the training they will disseminate the recommendations and findings and raise funds, organize both formal as well as specific skills on social and business start-ups.
He said he needed young men to actively support young women’s led initiatives so that we can achieve a just world and introduce and equip more young women to apply for the Be the Change Grants Worldwide.
Be the Change Sierra Leone is one of the World’s most innovative NGOs founded in 2006 ran by young people together with the founder George Reginald Freeman. It is a charity and non- religious group with the sole aim of empowering young people.
