The Project Coordinator of British Council, Joseph Abu yesterday congratulated and bid farewell to seven Commonwealth scholarship awardees and two British Council Chevening scholarship beneficiaries.
Giving them a pre- departure briefing at the British Council, Joseph Abu congratulated them for receiving the prestigious scholarship.
He told them that they were embarking on a life time experience in the UK where much was expected from them to be done and seen.
He therefore urged them to be prepared and be pro-active during their studies as the UK is a center for development and transformation of new original ideas.
The Business Director of British Council Amos Lansana told them that the scholarship was to bolster their capacity and gain knowledge for which they were expected to replicate on their return.
The awardees were briefed about life in the UK, its culture, people, climate and education.
The seven beneficiaries of the Commonwealth scholarship are: Joseph Lansana Kormoh Lecturer, FourahBay College, who will be reading his PhD at the University of Bradford, Alpha S. Bundu will be doing his Masters at City University and Mahmoud Tarawally, Lecturer Fourah Bay College at Manchester University, Samuel Kamara at Exeter University, Bai John Conteh at Middlesex, Addie Surrur at Sheffield University and Mohamed Jalloh, Lecturer Njala University to read his Masters at University of Reading.
Abdul Rahman Mansaray and Kadija Kabba are the two beneficiaries of the Chevening scholarship.
