At the Kimbima Hotel, the Sierra Leone Brewery Limited (SLBL) over the weekend hosted its customers’ awards night and relaunched its non-alcohol Maltina brand.
Looking elegant in black dinner suite the SLBSL managing director, Dr John Mbonu, took the podium to deliver his epoch making speech. “This awards ceremony will recognize and celebrate the achievements of our committed and passionate partners in Sierra Leone,” he said.
Dr Mbonu admonished “those of our revered partners who will not be any award tonight, I appeal and encourage you to redouble your efforts so that you will be counted and rewarded during our next customer awards ceremony.”
Throwing light on the Maltina brand relaunch he said, “it all started in October 1992, when SLBSL launched a non-alcoholic malt beverage that offered care, nourishment and vitality for the entire family. By 1997, the vitamin enriched Maltina had gained prominence as the brand that delivered vitality, nourishment and care for the discerning malt drinkers in Sierra Leone. By 2002, Maltina had achieved an unassailable market leadership position in the malt beverage category in Sierra Leone. By 2007 Maltina had become the most sought after Malt drink in Sierra Leone for the yearnings of seekers of vitality, care and nourishment. And now in 2008, after 15 years of vitality care and nourishment, your favorite Malt has been, reengineered, repackaged, reformulated and fortified with extra vitamins, to provide and deliver nourishment for life.”
