The Boston Winchester Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts past week adopted the Kenema government hospital in a ceremony that took place during the visit of the Mayor of Kenema, Brima Kargbo.
The Mayor who is visiting Boston was accompanied by members of the Sierra Leone Kenema District Development Mission (SLKDDM) to express their appreciation for the past gifts given to them by the Winchester Hospital. According to the Vice President of SLKDDM Foday Sesay, they organized the Mayor’s visit to Boston Winchester hospital because of gifts of medicine and hospital equipment they had donated to Kenema government hospital recently.
“The officials of the Winchester hospital were so amazed and happy for the appreciation showed by the Mayor that they decided to adopt the Kenema government hospital and pledged to do more”, Foday Sesay said.
Foday Sesay who is currently in town and one of the facilitators for the visit of the Mayor said the details of the adoption is being worked out and hope that before the Mayor returns this Thursday, it would have been completed.
