SIERRA LEONE, Freetown – Sierra Leone representative in this year’s CAF Confederations Cup FC Kallon will play host to Borgou FC of Benin in the first leg today Friday 9th September 2022.
FC Kallon went to Benin with a 33-man delegation comprising of 25 players and 8 officials and the Second leg will be played on the 17th September 2022 at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports complex Monrovia, Liberia.
The host Les Buffles Football Club du Borgou, famously known as Les Buffles du Borgou, is a Beninese professional football club based in Parakou, that competes in the Benin Premier League.
The club was founded on 1976 in Paraku under the name of Association Sportive Buffles FC du Borgou after the merger of the two major clubs of the city.
They have won the Benin Premier League five times: 1980, 1992, 2014, 2017, 2019., Benin Cup three times: 1979, 1982, 2001 and runners up in 2000 and won Benin Super cup one time in 2014.
And their performance in CAF Champion League /African Cup of Champions club four appearances 1993 withdraw, 2015 Preliminary round, 2018: Preliminary round 2020 Preliminary Round and 2021 Preliminary Round while they took part in CAF cup Winner’s cup one time in 1983.
They will be looking forward to win today’s match to have edge for the second leg in a week time.
While Fc Kallon are going in to secure a win or at least a draw to put them in a better footing ahead of the second leg match
