Supporters of the People’s Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC) in Bo Southern Province have vowed to support their leader Charles Margai who is in alliance with the All People’s Congress (APC) as they plan a big welcome for the two leaders this week.
Speaking under condition of anonymity a PMDC Parliamentary candidate for Bo told Awoko the decision taken by their leader is a very good one and that they are going to stand by him till they see the SLPP out of power.
Questioned about the mood of the Bo people the PMDC candidate said the alliance was not a surprise and that they had vowed not to follow the SLPP to the drain. “Even on Tuesday the executive held a meeting at the party office and we spent about three hours there,” he said
“Our supporters were concerned” he stated “as they thought we were going to support SLPP but after the meeting we explained to them about the outcome.”
The PMDC parliamentary candidate further disclosed that presently they are planning a big welcome for their leader as he will be taking the APC leader Ernest Bai Koroma to them.
“This time we saying no to tribalism we need the progress of the country and so we are going to cast our vote for Ernest for change and development,” he chanted.
On the issue of the suspended Financial Secretary Sidique Janneh, the PMDC man said “Sidique is not an issue if I were him I would have eaten the money and sit down quietly without saying a word … we know our leader has made the right decision and we will follow him to the end.”
