Bintumani hotel came to the aid of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) by providing lodging facilities to the visiting Gambian team after other hotels in the country failed to lodge the delegation because of alleged huge unpaid debts by the SLFA.
The first hotel that the Gambians were taken towas the Hill Valley Hotel where they were refused. The assistant manager of the Hill Valley hotel Dauda Kargbo confirmed that they refused to lodge the Gambians, because the SLFA has to pay them over 60 million Leones along with other hotels a total sum of 137 Million Leones.
He went further that Abubakarr Kabba the Administrative Secretary of SLFA called him and told him that they were coming to deposit some amount of money as they want the Gambia delegation to lodge at the hotel which he agreed.
He explained that to his surprise Abubakarr Kabba only brought 7 Million Leones as a deposit out of over 60 Million Leones they were supposed to pay them.
30 minutes later he said the Gambian delegation arrived headed by Sorie Ibrahim Sesay and he refused to lodge the Gambian delegation until the SLFA pays them the outstanding balance of 53 million Leones as they have made several promises to them but have failed to fulfill them. That is why all the other hotels have come together to ban the SLFA and refusing to lodge their guests in their different hotels in the country.
Most of the members in the Gambian Delegation were fasting and they were unable to break their fast in their hotel rooms so they decided to call their High Commissioner to intervene.
After that ugly scene at Hill Valley they were taken to other hotels and according to reliable information the other hotels also refused the delegation but after several pleading calls Bintmani hotels came to their rescue saving the nation from further embarrassment.
