Hundreds of Christians gathered yesterday at the Bethel Praise Cathedral to give a civic reception in Honor of Evangelist Bishop Dag Heward-Mills and his team of the “Healing Jesus Campaign crusade,” which includes his wife Lady Reverend Adelaide Heward-Mills and other men of God.
Welcoming the team, National Crusade Coordinator Reverend Jonathan Titus-Williams said “we are very confident that as you make yourself available to come to our country under the direction of the Holy Spirit, God will use you to fulfill the purpose for which he has called you to Sierra Leone to the glory and honor of his name”.
Reverend Titus-Williams added that the coming of Bishop Heward-Mills to Sierra Leone is strategic and very timely, and that they are here at a time when we as a nation are registering to vote for our leaders in November 2012.
“The rising tension among political parties is a great concern for us as a Church and a confirmation to us that what Sierra Leone needs most at this time is the manifest presence of God”, Rev. Titus-Williams stated.
He averred that as a Church though small in number compared to other faiths, “we are dynamic and very confident that the destiny of this nation is our hands.”
The Reverend assured Bishop Heward-Mills and his team of their support and cooperation to make their visit a great success in the history of the Church in Sierra Leone.
Chairperson of the ceremony Apostle Akintayo Sam-Jolly said that they “are privileged to be hosting a man that God has raised and packaged for us”. He explained that to find five men of God who can match the calibre of Bishop Heward-Mills globally is difficult.
He welcomed the Bishop on behalf of the nation and the people that are going to be blessed during his crusade.
During the crusade, he reiterated that the sick will be healed, souls will be transformed, deaf will hear, lame will walk and there will be deliverance.
In his statement, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills said that he has heard a lot about Sierra Leone. He added that Freetown is special to him, because his Father attended the Fourah Bay College (FBC). Bishop Heward-Mills reiterated that it is a great blessing for him to be here.
“We are excited to join the Church and Pastors here”.
He thanked all the Pastors that are supporting the crusade and prayed that the Pastors will be stronger. He disclosed that he has just concluded the largest ever crusade in Bamako, Mali.
Bishop Heward-Mills is a Ghanaian and a Medical Doctor and has 1,200 branches all over the world in 52 countries. He has ministered in many places in the world and has conducted many “healing Jesus campaign” globally.
The crusade has started at the National Stadium.
