Vice President Solomon Berewa visited Falla Wandor, Kandu Leppiama and Simbaru chiefdoms in the Kenema district to commission a secondary school and open the Konta Community Hospital in Wandor chiefdom.
Speaking to supporters of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) in Boajibu town, the Veep said, “now is the time for people to know who is really a philanthropist as people of Sierra Leone have been suffering due to poverty”.
He emphasized that everyone must work towards the eradication of abject poverty in the country.
Meanwhile, during the occasion about 150 supporters of the People’s Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC) identified themselves and told the vice president that they intended re-crossing over to the SLPP.
But the Veep reportedly rejected their repentance and pleaded with them to stay in the PMDC, saying that the SLPP had enough supporters to enable it win both the parliamentary and presidential elections on August 11.
