Former Wales international and Newcastle United hitman Craig Bellamy will launch a football academy at Tombo, the very day Leone Stars will be playing against South Africa in the African and World Cup qualification at the National Stadium.
Before the launching this great player will be playing football with the youth at Tombo.
The spokesperson for the academy, Durosimi Thomas, mentioned that government had decided to give them 25 acres of land for the academy, and that the paper work for the land was still in progress.
Durosimi stated that the academy would have educational facilities, two international pitches and offices.
He went further that the main goal of the academy was to develop boys academically through football and that these boys would be able to enrich their potentials.
Durosimi noted that Bellamy would be responsible for the construction of the academy which would start in November this year and end in March next year.
He disclosed that the first batch of players that would pass out from the academy would be between March to April next year, and the league would start in November this year.
