As the national basketball competition continued at the National Stadium over the weekend, YSC and Forceans emerged winners.
YSC defeated Lumley Dreams 70-39 in the first quarter. YSC scored 9 points while Lumley Dreams also scored 9 points.
In the second quarter YSC went into the lead by 27-20. In the third quarter, YSC still maintained their lead with 39-24 and in the final quarter it was 70-39 in favour of YSC who have not lost a single match since the competition started last month.
YSC’s head coach, Alie Hijazi, said his boys were prepared to win the competition at all cost as “we have the players to achieve that goal.”
In the other match played, Forceans came very strong to defeat Freetown Lakes by 75-47 after losing their last match to Lumley Dreams.
During the match, Forceans dominated the match in every department of the game from the first to the last quarter.
In the first quarter they scored 20 points while their opponents Freetown Lakes scored 5 points. In the second quarter they still came strong to increase the points to 35-11.
While in the third quarter the score was 54-29, and the final quarter saw Forceans making more points in the match which finally ended in their favour 75-47. The competition continues this weekend.
